Wavela is Nigeria's first marketplace for waterfront rentals: boats, beach experiences, and stays on the lagoon, all in one place.
Lagos has one of the most vibrant waterfront cultures in Africa: the lagoon, the creeks, Tarkwa Bay, Victoria Island, Lekki. Yet finding a boat to hire, a waterfront stay, or a guided lagoon experience was always a matter of word of mouth, WhatsApp groups, and luck.
We built Wavela to change that. A single, trusted marketplace where hosts can list their boats, experiences, and properties, and guests can discover, book, and pay securely, all online.
What we stand for
Built for Nigeria
We started in Lagos because nowhere else in Africa has a waterfront culture quite like it. Wavela is designed for Nigerian hosts and guests: Naira payments, local support, and listings that reflect life on the water here.
Community first
Every boat captain, experience host, and waterfront property owner on Wavela is building something. We exist to help them reach guests who appreciate it, and to help guests find experiences they'll never forget.
Trust & safety
Payments are held securely via Paystack and Flutterwave and only released after a booking is complete. Our review system and host verification process keep the community honest.
Starting small, thinking big
We launched in Lagos and Lekki. Port Harcourt, Abuja, Calabar, and Warri are next. Our goal is to be the definitive platform for waterfront life across West Africa.
